At America's Air Show

November 12 – 13, 2005

The Event

Presented by the United States Air Force and the men and women serving their country from Nellis Air Force Base, Aviation Nation 2005 will be another spectacular air aviation event.

Aviation Nation has been called one of the most diverse, entertaining and well run air shows in America. This is the premier air show of the Air Force and one of the largest aviation events occurring in North America.

Approximately 125,000 are expected to attend the Saturday and Sunday air show. The event is free to the public.

Live from Las Vegas

Las Vegas officially endorses and supports Aviation Nation through Las Vegas Events and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. 2005 is the Centennial of Las Vegas and Aviation Nation 2005 has been designated a Gold Signature event for this yearlong celebration.

Operation Welcome Home

Nellis Air Force Base and Las Vegas will roll out the red carpet for a rousing patriotic tribute to all our Vietnam veterans. Operation Welcome Home is a tribute to our Vietnam Veterans and the welcome home they have never received. Co-hosted by Las Vegas and Aviation Nation, Operation Welcome Home is receiving national attention on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, Paul Harvey and G. Gordon Liddy radio shows and in multiple newspapers through the Associated Press.

Thunderbirds

Las Vegas’ own Air Force Thunderbirds will return as the featured aerial demonstration in their homecoming show and last public show of the season. Since 1952 the Thunderbirds have thrilled millions of air show fans around the world.

The Best in Aviation

Some of America’s top military and civilian air demonstrations will be back for the 2005 event, including the F/A-22 Raptor, the F-15 Eagle the Harrier Jump Jet and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

Sean Tucker in the Oracle Challenger, Bill Reeseman in the Red Bull MiG, David Martin in the Breitling CAP 232 and Ed Hamill will lead the civilian pack.

Air show fans will see hundreds of aircraft on display from a WWI biplane through WWII era fighters and bombers to our Air Force’s current inventory of front-line fighters, bombers and transports, including the F/A-22, America’s 21st century fighter.

Air Racing

Boyd Gaming—sponsored Las Vegas Air Racing, featuring top unlimited racers—World War II fighter aircraft highly modified for speed—is back for the fourth year to thrill the crowd with a demonstration of the world’s fastest motor sport.

National Aviation Hall of Fame

National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinees – famous astronauts, test pilots and war heroes – will attend for the fourth year. These legendary aviators and war heroes will be part of all VIP activities in 2005.

Most Publicized Air Show in America

Thanks to endorsement and sponsorship by Las Vegas, Aviation Nation is now the most publicized air show in America with over $525,000 in guaranteed media in 2005 reaching regional, national and international audiences through an extensive advertising and promotions program.

Full-page magazine ads will be printed 5 million times in twelve top aviation publications, including FLYING, the world's most read aviation magazine and Aviation Week & Space Technology, the most respected and read journal of the aerospace and defense industry.

In addition, full-page and large display ads will be printed over 2 million times in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada's most read newspaper.

Aviation Nation has one of the most viewed web sites in aviation. In 2004, over six million hits were recorded in the thirty day period preceding the show.

In 2004, Aviation Nation won more national marketing, media and video production awards than any other air show in America. Since the first Aviation Nation air show in 2002, the event has won multiple awards annually. 2004 national awards follow. (ICAS is the International Council of Air Shows).
